The charitable campaign has concluded with total donations of EUR 1,323,097

Riga, Latvia, February 18, 2015, 10:04 / Banking

For the eighth year in a row, the corporate charitable foundation ABLV Charitable Foundation organised a Christmas charitable campaign, in collaboration with ABLV Bank, during which ABLV Bank’s employees and clients were invited to make donations, along with any member of the general public, wishing to support the Foundation’s goals.

It was possible to make donations to three programmes: “Let’s Help Them to Hear!”, “Let’s Help Them to Grow Up!”, as well to a new programme “New Riga”, which will be implemented under the auspices of the “Urban Environment” operating field.

This year, there was considerable support from donors. A total of EUR 1,323,097 was donated to all programmes. The donation statistics for the programmes were as follows:

  • “Let’s Help Them to Hear!” EUR 157,531;
  • “Let’s Help Them to Grow Up!” EUR 43,941;
  • “New Riga” EUR 1,121,625.

On behalf of all of the children and their parents, we would like to thank those whose efforts help to make the lives of these children better, and remind you that thanks to the support of ABLV Bank, the Foundation doubles the sums donated to the programmes “Let’s Help Them to Hear!” and “Let’s Help Them to Grow Up!”.

Under the auspices of the “Let’s Help Them to Hear!” programme, we present the very latest hearing aids to children with hearing problems, whose parents cannot afford them. Thanks to your generosity during the previous campaign, we were able to help 86 children during 2014. By way of comparison — during the all the previous operating years of this programme, we were able to present hearing aids to a total of 89 children. Every year, about another 100 children in Latvia need such devices. Approximately EUR 2,000 are required to help one child.

Under the auspices of the “Let’s Help Them to Grow Up!” programme, we organised summer camps for children from impoverished families. In 2014, 1,036 participants from all over Latvia gained new impressions and experiences by attending one of the 30 camps organised by the Foundation.

You can study detailed reports about the work done during 2014 under the auspices of the “Let’s Help Them to Hear!” programme here and the “Let’s Help Them to Grow Up!” programme here.

In addition to its existing programmes, ABLV Charitable Foundation has recently founded a new programme “New Riga”, which will be implemented for the first time this year under the auspices of the “Urban Environment” operating field. The Foundation is attracting donations for the establishment and operation of the Latvian Museum of Contemporary Art (LMCA), the creation and landscaping of a park in the grounds adjoining the LMCA, as well for other important regeneration projects in Central Riga, thus supporting the establishment of an aesthetic cultural environment and giving the general public the opportunity to live in a safe and orderly environment.
